Project Overview
This project targeted the critical SOKOINE – MURIET -MEIDIMU drainage, Open drainage construction involves the creation of surface-level water channels designed to collect and direct stormwater or wastewater away from roads, buildings, or other infrastructures to prevent flooding and erosion. The project is executed by following procedures: excavating a trench, followed by preparing the base with a concrete layer, installing rebar, and casting the concrete. Key steps include grading the base for slope, installing formwork, casting the walls and base, and completing the structure, often with a pre-cast slab on top. Proper slope and maintenance are crucial for the system to function correctly and avoid blockages. Importance of Open drains are crucial for effective surface water management, improving road lifespan, preventing waterlogging, and promoting environmental hygiene
